Universal Trade Frames enhances fabrication capabilities ahead of FIT Show 2025

Universal Trade Frames is setting the standard with the announcement of its new in-house fabrication of the Residence Collection, in anticipation of the FIT Show 2025.

Universal Trade Frames is expanding its operations with in-house fabrication of the Residence Collection, driven by a £500,000 investment in advanced manufacturing technologies, including the flagship Haffner MAC 345 HeritageWeld CNC machining centre.

This strategic move to bring the fabrication of the Residence Collection in-house is designed to meet the rising demand for heritage-style windows that combine traditional aesthetics with modern performance.

As a result, Universal Trade Frames will be able to offer even faster lead times, maintain greater control over product quality, and provide increased flexibility for its network of installers. The investment also addresses growing demand for premium windows in both residential and commercial sectors, particularly in conservation areas where authenticity and design are crucial.

A strategic move for the future

“Bringing the Residence Collection fabrication in-house is a major step forward for us,” said Richard Hammond, Sales Director at Universal Trade Frames.

“It allows us to control the entire manufacturing process, from start to finish. This not only improves product consistency but also gives us the flexibility to respond quickly to customer needs and deliver products in a shorter timeframe.”

The Haffner MAC 345 HeritageWeld CNC machining centre brings significant advancements in production capabilities. This state-of-the-art machine is capable of precision machining on 16 profile pieces simultaneously, significantly boosting the company’s production capacity and enhancing quality standards.

The Residence Collection, known for its heritage-inspired designs and high-performance features, has gained significant popularity due to its combination of period-style aesthetics and modern functionality.

The windows are meticulously designed to replicate the appearance of traditional timber frames, while incorporating energy-efficient features and advanced materials. The system’s use of HeritageWeld technology ensures a mechanically jointed window with the structural integrity of a fully welded product.

This makes the Residence Collection an attractive choice for installers working on projects in both modern and period-style properties.

Richard further explained, “The Residence Collection is particularly suited to conservation areas, where the preservation of traditional designs is paramount.

“At the same time, it offers modern thermal efficiency, making it a win-win for both heritage projects and more contemporary builds. Our decision to invest in its in-house fabrication will ensure we can meet the growing demand while maintaining high standards of quality and delivery.”

To support the in-house fabrication of the Residence Collection, Universal Trade Frames has introduced advanced manufacturing technology, including the Haffner CNC machining centre, which is capable of precision machining, ensuring each component is crafted to exacting standards.

By utilising this technology, Universal Trade Frames can enhance its operational efficiency and significantly reduce lead times, ensuring that installers receive products when they need them most.

“Investing in the Haffner CNC machining centre is an essential part of our strategy,” Richard noted.

“This technology enables us to achieve a level of precision and efficiency that would be difficult to replicate with manual processes. It also supports our sustainability goals by minimising waste and improving the overall quality of our products.”

In addition to the Residence Collection, Universal Trade Frames continues to offer an extensive range of premium products, including the Spectus Vertical Sliding Sash Windows and Solidor composite doors.

The Spectus system, which is increasingly popular among installers working on conservation projects, features a slimline design with a 37mm meeting rail, making it an ideal solution for maintaining the traditional look of period properties while offering modern performance benefits, including enhanced thermal efficiency.

One of the standout features of Universal Trade Frames’ offering is its ability to provide non-glass bonded sashes.

This option gives installers the flexibility to source glass locally, which can help reduce costs and streamline the supply chain. This flexibility is particularly valuable in projects where lead times are tight or where bespoke glass is required.

“We understand that our customers are facing more pressure than ever to meet deadlines and keep costs under control,” Richard said.

“By offering non-glass bonded sashes, we’re giving installers greater control over their supply chain. They can source glass from local suppliers, reducing delivery costs and lead times, which ultimately benefits the end customer.”

Looking ahead to FIT Show 2025

As Universal Trade Frames prepares to showcase its expanded range of products at the FIT Show 2025, the company is eager to highlight its innovations and discuss the future of window and door manufacturing.

Its presence at the event will also provide an opportunity for installers, architects, and industry professionals to learn more about how Universal Trade Frames’ in-house fabrication capabilities are improving product quality, delivery times, and overall customer satisfaction.

“The FIT Show is a fantastic platform for us to connect with industry professionals and showcase the advancements we’ve made in our manufacturing capabilities,” Richard commented.

“We’re excited to showcase our new capabilities at stand F30, and we invite visitors to see how our innovations can support their business growth and meet the demands of the premium window market,” Richard concluded..
