New thermally efficient low threshold from Universal Trade Frames

Universal Trade Frames has added a new thermally efficient low threshold to its Solidor composite door offer, delivering a major uptick in thermal performance.

Available across its Solidor range the new low threshold replaces a section of the original aluminium threshold, introducing a much larger polyamide thermal break. This limits heat loss and significantly improves thermal performance.

Richard Hammond, Sales Director, Universal Trade Frames, explained: “The introduction of the new polyamide thermal break, delivers a significant improvement in overall u-values, while retaining an ultra-low threshold height, delivering compliance with Part M and with no change to front to back depth.

“It’s a small change but allows us to gain performance and contribute to a lower overall u-value for the doorset.”

The Stormguard AM3 Part M compliant threshold is available from Universal Trade Frames in either gold or silver, with a height of just 25mm and front to back depth of 114mm.

The UK’s second largest manufacture of Solidor composite doors after Solidor itself, Universal Trade Frames’ range includes the inhouse manufacture of the complete Traditional and Italia Collections, Stable and French doors, plus Solidor Panic Exit Doors 25/6/24. Re-issued .

In addition to supplying all standard Solidor glass designs, Universal Trade Frames also offers a range of specialist glass options.

Hardware options include all Solidor standard hardware, plus options from Fab & Fix. It combines this with multipoint locking as standard, plus Yale Platinum 3* cylinders.

It’s another in a recent line of product developments from Universal Trade Frames, which last month announced the launch of a new ultra-slim 37m meeting rail option on its Spectus Vertical Slider.

Richard continued: “We pride ourselves on seeking out product innovations that deliver a commercial advantage to our customers.

“The new meeting rail on the Spectus VS is one, the new expanded polyamide thermal break on our low threshold is another.

“With further expansion of our manufacturing capability and our product offer scheduled for later this year, it’s an exciting time to be a Universal Trade Frames customer.”
